Where your tools go after the disinfectant soak, in a CGBE cabinet
Inside are 10 liters of room, two removable racks and a stainless steel tray, enough for several sets of nippers, pushers and scissors laid out flat. An LCD runs three kinds of program: Auto, Dry at 45, 60 or 90 minutes, and UV at 10, 20 or 30 minutes. PTC warm air reaches up to 167°F and drives off the water left after rinsing.
Before a tool goes in, it still needs the full routine. The California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology does not recognize UV units as a way to disinfect soiled tools, and OSHA states that UV boxes do not disinfect. Texas rules allow a UV unit as a dry storage container, and Florida allows UV only for storing tools already cleaned and disinfected. So wash with soap and water, soak in an EPA-registered disinfectant for the time on its label, rinse, dry, and then rack them here.
The UV light runs at 257.3 nm. Read that figure as a lamp spec, not a result on germs. What the cabinet gives you is a closed, dry place for clean tools, away from the ones still waiting for the sink.
Its racks take the metal implements of the CGBE collection, from the nipper to the curved scissors, once they are washed and soaked.
How to use it
- Wash each tool, soak it in EPA-registered disinfectant for the label time, rinse and dry.
- Lay the clean tools flat on the racks or the stainless steel tray.
- Run a Dry program, then keep the door closed until the next client.
