A CGBE canvas tote for groceries and the library

At 13.3 by 12.8 by 3.9 inches, the tote takes a week of library books, a few grocery cartons or a change of clothes for the gym. A depth of nearly four inches lets a lunch box stand upright on the bottom.

Inside is a zip pocket for the small things that wander: cards, keys, a phone, lip balm. Zipped shut, they stay put when the bag tips over on a car seat. The handles are long enough to carry it in your hand or over the shoulder.

A printed cartoon design on the canvas makes it easy to spot on a hook by the door. When it gets grubby from a farmers market, it goes in the washing machine with the towels. On a trip it doubles as a day bag for the beach or a museum.
