    Fine grits do a different job from our 100/180 mini blocks. Run the 1000 side over a natural nail to smooth ridges and even the surface, then the 4000 side buffs it to a shine that shows without a top coat. Two passes, one block.

    Large blocks come 20 to a pack for working a full hand at a time, and minis come 50 to a pack for a kit or a travel case. The EVA foam sits on a plastic board, so it stays flat under the finger while staying soft enough to follow the curve of the nail. Green and purple are the two colors.

    Salon rules treat a shine buffer as a single-client item like any other buffer. California rules, as the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology spells out in Section 981, require it to be thrown away right after use on one client, and a tech may not keep it for that client's next visit. With 20 or 50 in a pack, each client gets a new one.

    Shape first with the 100/180 mini blocks from the CGBE product line, then finish with these.

    How to use it

    1. Run the 1000 side across the nail in light strokes to smooth ridges.
    2. Switch to the 4000 side and buff until the surface turns glossy.
    3. Brush off the dust before any polish or treatment goes on.
